Mudguards (fenders) and bike bags.
I'm going to the Black forest in April, either flying or train - eitherway I'll need to use a bikebag. I've heard it can be wet in the Black Forest in April, and so plan on having mudguards (fenders). I'm assuming I should take them off along with the wheels to stop them getting banged about. It's a bit of a hassle though.

I took off my fenders for a Baja tour this Dec and then reinstalled them. Its actually pretty hassle free as they will be all set up - you only have to reattach them which takes 10mins.

Thanks for that. unfortunately for me I have clearance issues, and so have had to cut the fenders and make a kind of bracket for them to go over the top. I's all very complicated, and makes teh refitting a bit more fiddly, but thanks for the input. I guess if I want to stay dry, I'll just have to go along with it.
Again, amny thanks.
