I'll be towing a B.O.B. only (no rackl/panniers) across the U.S.

Condition, excellent. Approx. 3,000 miles
Rider weigt, 165

I weigh 50 pounds more than you and have never broken a 32 spoke wheel. I think you are fine.

That said I prefer higher spoke counts not because they are necesarry, but because mechanical problen in the middle of nowhere are better ruled out with a touring bike in my opinion. However even with that philosophy I think you are fine with a bob. If this is a 26" MA2 then you are good to go for loaded touring.

Hate to put a fly in the ointment but there have been problems with the MA2s. They aren't the longest lasting rims made by Mavic. I've had a couple that cracked around the spoke holes. Do a search for them.

The MA3s crack a lot more than the 2s. I'd still be using MA2s if I could get them,
