Yes, nicer/stronger wheels will have less problems (sometimes seems like none at all), but we can't all afford handbuilt DT CHris King/Phil Wood wheels, but spokes bust, man.

I really just wanted to get my hands on a decent rim/hub, and in time will definitely have them rebuilt properly. So far, aside from the 2 broken spokes on a fully loaded tour(carrying EVERYTHING two people need for six days), the wheels have been trouble free. And even when the spokes broke, i didn't notice anything until we got home. It probably happened on the first day, too - when we decided to take a pretty rough trail through the woods for some scenery and break from traffic laden roads. In which case their performance is even more commendable.
Anyway, thanks all.

I wouldn't say it proves your wheels are good, except for a few bad things. Bad stuff happens, but it should be noticeable. On a recent tour I ran heavily over a rock by accident, it was part of a groomed earth trail but there were a lot of small rocks, and then there was this big one. Really that was the only bad thing that happened. It didn't break a spoke but it sure did do damage. No way your spokes should really blow just from regular riding. Your all up weight is failry reasonable.
However, I would just replace the spokes and give it a go. As the Brandt comments show, there is a tendancy to have a " my cup is 3/36th empty", rather than 33/36th full reaction If the other spokes are fine they should be fine for a long time. On the other hand if all best efforts won't stop the breaking of spokes then you have your answer about quality. If you do just replace your broken spokes then keep a note of which ones they were.
I think the fact your spoke broke and your wheel held up overall is a good sign.
