Opinions on this Big Agnes Sleeping System for Upper Midwest Touring
A sleeping bag and pad is one of the last items I need to acquire. The Big Agnes pads gets good reviews here and I am seriously considering their semi rectangular sleeping bags too because I am a side sleeper and don't think I would be happy with a pure mummy style. I also tend to like it a little warm when sleeping. That being said I am considering the Crystal
, a 30 deg bag, and the insulated Air Core Pad
. Being that I am originate from the Northern Wisconsin/Minnesota area, I could see a lot of my future touring being done there and around the Lake Superior shore from May through September. Although the Midwest has a reputation for hot summers, it can also get darn cold at night - mid 40's in July is not unheard of. My other consideration would be a 15 deg bag, but I am thinking that might be a bit too warm. I am also considering a silk liner to use alone with the pad when it is really hot or with the bag when it is really cold.
I am interested in what other people think of this set up for this region.
