San Francisco knowledge

touring from pdx to costa rica and we are here in san fran. need a place to true wheels and get a hold of tools, rebuild headsets, and bottom brackets. shoestring budget, need i say more. any suggestions where we can drop a few bucks and take care of these things ourselves. check out pics at www.baleen.org.

I don't live in SF, but a friend does and I recently looked up bike shops and bike coops for her. Maybe they can be of use to you:

If you happen to go over to Berkeley, you can also find places there (The Missing Link is one)(it's nearby the Shattuck BART Station).

You might also be able to find some places in Santa Cruz, if/when you are down that way.

i believe they have a bench/tools that customers can use for a small fee
i live around the corner from them. if you need any help while in sf, shoot me a pm.
