Unexpected 10 days off!

NEW!!!! Photos from my trip. I rode the Romantische Strasse from Füssen on the Austrian border back home to Frankfurt.

I just found out I haven't got any (much) work next week, so I have ten days off in a row. AND, the missus is going away with her family, so I can head out on the road. Hmmm, where should I go, where should I go? How about I head to the Alps, and roll all the way down to Hamburg!

Considering that I get 13 days of vacation and my boss won't let me take time w/o pay, I think I hate you the most.

I might as well jump in. I mildly dislike you -- but if my summer turns ugly and I can't get away I might come to hate you as well.

Go ahead, ride in the Alps. Just make sure that you bring some serious rain gear and some warm wool clothing or you may think twice before teasing the other cyclists again!

I don't hate you only b/c I turned in my thesis this morning have 11 days before I leave for my 2 year vacation. How's it feel when the hated becomes the hater? Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Same here, but I've got 11. I'm not sure how I feel about this whole young professional thing.

Becnal,
Enjoy your trip - the alps are wonderful!

Nice slides - thanks for sharing.

So how long is that ride on the Romantische Strasse? My wife & I have dreamed about it and I wondered if there are separate bike lanes up through the hills. Looks like you were on bike path for much of your ride?

It is bike path the whole way except for 4 km. On a bike route of 440 km, that's a pretty good percentage.

Bike routes around here mean no cars.
