A Lesson on Swinging Bridges

I am going to be riding a bike across the country of Belize this summer to raise money, but this past week I was in Belize and learned a valuable lesson: Don't ride two at a time on a swinging bridge!

I wrote several blog entries on my website (https://acrossbelize.org), but I also posted a video to help illustrate this point:

https://acrossbelize.org/2007/05/16/the-swinging-bridge/

Enjoy, and let me know if you have any other lessons!

That's great. I've learnded that lesson, too, but not that harshly.

Speed helps too

One at a time is a good idea, but so is speed. All the locals say that they try to go as fast as possible across the bridge. That seems to make the missing boards go by quicker, too!

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

You have your priorities straight, you kept your bike out of the drink and thought to roll around the grab line at the same time! Good job!

Also, to see that I did learn from previous mistakes, here is a clip of my second time across the bridge.
