blueberry trip

Two friends and I took a trip from Brooklyn to Plymouth, Connecticut this past weekend to go blueberry picking. It wasn't exactly loaded touring, but the photos turned out great and captured the fun of what adventures are possible by bike, and I thought you might like to see the results:

More here:

If anyone wants details on routes, etc, this is the most fun weekend trip I've done in a long time.

What kind of tires and fenders do you have mounted on the sequoia?

I have freddie fenders hardcore hybrid - they barely fit. I've got the 25mm specialized slicks with the kevlar belt right now. I'm going to put 28mm tires on very soon because I find myself using the panniers more and more with it and I think they'd be a little cushier.

Howdy -
I went and did the full-length version at your website.
Great fun!

What kind of helmets are you and Kelli wearing?
I have an old round Vetta that needs replacing -
But I want a helmet with some substance - not some spiderweb.
(Psst - I noticed that Nate didn't have one - ahem.)
Hope you enjoyed the blueberries.
Years ago I lived at 8th and Bank in the Village.
I loved sitting at the mezzanine cafe at Grand Central.
Watching the crowds swirl by underneath.
So I really appreciate the last photo.
(But I wish they'd get rid of that awful, oversized flag.)

PS - Bad things generally happen when you ride on a flat.

Actually, I am Nate, and I know I should always wear a helmet, but in my scramble to get ready in time I left it behind - a rare bout of irresponsibility on my part.

The blueberries are ambrosial, and I have enough in my freezer to last months.
