    Rear Safety Lights?

I bought a nice Cat Eye rear safety light (I think it has about 10 LEDs and blinks), but I notice that the trunk on the rear rack blocks it out to a substantial degree.

Seems to me there ought to be rear safety lights that would attach to the rear of my rack, but everything I've seen is set up for a post mount. Does anyone know of anything that is made for such a rack mount?

    Much thanks!

Easy! Short peace of PVC pipe sandwiched between two fender washers, rack reflector tab with a 1/4-20 bolt and nut holding it all together. Then just clamp the blinkie clamp around the pipe.

n4zou has a good solution---just ride to the local hardware store and find custom hardware to fit your bike.

The last two Cateye taillights that I bought (TL-1000, TL-1100, both had about 10 LEDs) came with self tapping screws that would let the light be attached to a rear rack. It's a more permanent installation than the post mount, but it eliminates the problem of the seat post mounting hardware fatiguing and breaking.

If you don't have a hole at the back of your rack to attach the light, you can buy a bracket at your LBS or improvise one yourself.
