2008 Rocky Mountain Sherpa 30
I don't mean to belabor the point but...
The 2008 Rocky Mountain Sherpa 30's are in stock and have been shipping for about 2 weeks. The only reason I mention this is because I have one down at the LBS just waiting for me to take possession of it and someone in this forum mentioned that he was told by a representative of RM that they wouldn't be out until January. This had me thinking and so I called to clarify with Rocky Mountain. The info I give is directly from them.
I just wanted to clear this up for anyone who is considering purchasing an RMS30.
Thx,
RS

I called today also!
And was told again that the soonest my bike would be built is December or January.
Again I was told that the higher volume bikes (MTB's) will be produced before the lower number units like the Sherpa's and that they only build 200-300.
I am thinking Rocky must have a different plant in the U.S than in Canada and that must be why we are getting two different answers.
But still, I have to wait until the new year for my Sherpa. At least I will have lots of time to fit it with the bits I want.

I'd love to know what the discrepancy is here. The info below was taken right from their website. This is the phone number I called. A woman answered and forwarded the call to someone named "Scott". I would find it hard to believe that they are releasing the 08's to the US before they do to their native sons from Canada. Maybe your right though. Never heard of such a thing before with any product.

I live in western Canada so maybe I can grab one off the truck as they head east and south!
I am jelous that you guys are getting the bikes before I can get one here though.
Oh well, I can't ride it anyways when there is 4 feet of snow on the ground.
I am so looking forward to this Sherpa.
Please post some pics when you get yours and of what mods you will be doing.
My short list is
-B17 with copper rivets and brown leather wrap
-planet bike fenders seen here
https://ecom1.planetbike.com/7027.html
-Tubus racks
-generator lighting
I havent decided yet if I will get the brifters swapped out for some barcons.
My LBs has already stated that I can get any gearing I want for no addition charge so I am thinking 46 34 22.
