Cycling Belgium Waterways
Hi touring cyclists,
If you are thinking of touring in Belgium (Flanders) and you're crazy about quiet towpaths along waterways, canals and rivers, you should have a look at the 53 tours that I have composed.
The maps are very detailed, especially because of the fact that GoogleMaps and TeleAtlas only mention car roads. So, I've been drawing a lot of lines where from their point of view, there is nothing. But you may be sure (you have to believe me ;-) you will cycle peaceful and legal bicycle tracks.
Enjoy,
Fietslogies

Thanks for those, they should be handy for our Belgium trip next year.
We ride the towpaths in the UK, but some are very bumpy, so it will be nice to see how good the Belgian paths are :-)

FWIW the cycling maps you can get in Belgium / Flanders are awesome. I'd use the OP's stuff to plan your routes and the local maps when you're on the bike.

Interesting! I followed the Ghent-Antwerp route with the hybrid map. You can even see some larger vessels in the canal. Vaart Linkeroever? Is that the route name? Left side?

I have less experience than the OP, but... Most of the towpaths will be very high quality, everything in Flanders I rode was top-notch. Some of the paths in Wallonia got a little rougher -- short stretches of gravel and/or dirt along the Meuse, for example. Nothing a good touring bike can't handle.
