Just the maps, ma'am...just the maps

Any of you have any recommendations for a simple handlebar map holder? I'm looking for something that is NOT a bag. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of the convenience of handlebar bags, but I hate the wind resistance and shifting of center of gravity. I'll be getting an Arkel Tail Rider for my rear rack, but just need a map holder for the front bar for those centuries.

thanks

For organized centuries or touring? For the queue sheets at centuries I just tie wrap a clip to the stem.

thanks. Mostly just for organized rides, centuries etc. I think your idea works well, and just came across a cheapie product made of a velcro band, a swivel rivet, and a clip...the Cue Clip. Throw the map in a ziplock bag, clip it to the stem, and voila!

I've actually used the map case from Arkel. Got it dirt cheap with some T22s when they were having a clearance sale. I liked it pretty well.

Decathlon sells a nice one for about 5 Euro ... I picked it up when I was in France to replace the one that came with my handlebar bag. It works very well.

Velotique also has them: https://www.velotique.com/bag.htm

Here's how to make a homemade map holder:

I splurge and use the heavy-duty ziplock bag with the "zipper" type pull.

Ise use an excellent Zefal map holder: https://www.awcycles.co.uk/popups/12323/1/index.aspx

map holder

I use a popsicle stick rubber-banded to the stem, with two binder clips to hold each side of the top of the map/cuesheet (in a ziplock). (But then my bike has duct tape on it and an intentionally amateurish DIY lighting system.)

anyone know where you can get the quarterback-style arm band thingy that has a plastic (see-thru) cover? seems like those would make a great cue-holder too.

it goes on your forearm, and you could put any piece of paper in there, and the 'display' is probably 6 inches wide and 3-4 inches high, i think.

know what i'm talking bout? where can i find such a thing?

Check this out: https://www.aerostich.com/aerosearch....t=Static&q=map

These guys cater to motorcycle touring and ultra distance riding. Their stuff is normally top quality.
