No organized annual rides
There aren't any annual rides that are scheduled that I know of, but this has become a very popular route lately. My wife and I are heading out from Istanbul in March 2008, and although we are turning south in Central China to make our way to SE Asia and Australia, we still are planning on covering pretty much the same route that many other people take. Our plan is Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and finally down the coast of eastern Australia. We are planning for it to take about 15 to 17 months, so if you end up doing any part of this, let me know.

not iran? its a beautiful place with lots of nice people. tho, the roads are not nice traffic wise unless you reroute south through the deserts.
and if you do come to malaysia, stop by
