Cannondale T2 price check

I think I've decided to just go with the complete bike instead of piecing one together. The cannondale looks almost ready to rock out of the box. My favorite shop says cannondale builds/ships these by request only (none in stock). I'm looking at $1299 msrp with a 15% discount. That's $1192 after tax and out the door. How's that sound for the '08 T2?

How close is the fit to the Cdale road bikes? Anyone?

I think my T800 (same bike) was $1100 in 2003. Not to bad a price 4 years later with the value of the dollar slipsliding away

Also, I'm being told that there's a 4-6 week wait for the bike or frame. Does that sound right?

Was in my local REI yesterday and they had two Cannondale T800's in stock and on sale for $1,099 each (one was a medium the other a large). I don't know what year but would guess they are 2007 models. So $1,192 with tax doesn't seem to bad.

Where are these located? Just curious....that's the same bike without the 6 week wait.

Yessir! I've been too busy training these past 4 months to really ride dirtbikes. I usually do my multi-day trips on the mountain bike (off-road)....but I've been reading all these spring time ride reports at crazyguy and I'm trying to get out for a couple of weeks in may. I have most of the parts needed to build up a tourer (used to have a long haul trucker) so I figured I'd put one together "cheap"....and here I am.

For this one, I'll probably ride from here (east Tx) to Missouri, via Clayton, Oklahoma, Mena Arkansas, and the Ozarks. I'm really looking forward to some "down time" away from racing/training.

Just a follow-up in case anyone needs to know in the future:

The T1 and T2 are available as framesets and retail for $550. I ordered the 2008 T1 frameset this morning since I prefer the "titanium grey" and the T1 and T2 framesets cost the same. With discount, the frameset will come to about $460 (frame and fork). I decided to use the new parts I have around the house to build it up. I'll cannibalize my xt/221 26" wheels and use the hubs with some new a719s. I'm pretty excited about the project and can't wait to get it on the road.
