Alps Mountaineering
Try these guys. I own 10+ backpacking tents, including a Hilleberg one person tent that was about $400, and yet the Alps tents are the ones I use the most. The Mystique 1.5 when going solo and the Mystique 2.0 when going with the girlfriend. Their tents are well made, lightweight, and cheap. They target the scouting market so their tents are made to stand up to abuse. In fact they did (still do?) have a picture on their website of the factory where their tents are made which shows all the other big names that the same factory makes tents for. Frequently their tents will show up on https://reioutlet.com for ridiculously cheap prices (they Mystique is up their right now for $99, they call it the "Comet" for some reason). Although the tents are worth the full price quoted on the Alps website.

Some of the Eureka models have a good reputation. They make some really small and light ones.
