What size SKS fenders for Surly Lht complete?
I'm just about to downlay some money for SKS fenders to put on my Surly LHT complete. Am I right in thinking that the P45's would be appropriate or is this too big for the stock standard tyres that come on the complete??

What size LHT do you have?
I have the 54cm with 26 x 1.5 Tyres - I use a 60mm Fender which would cover me if I wanted to put wider tyres on.

I just put P45 on my 58cm LHT Complete this afternoon. Fit just fine.

I'm looking to buy fenders for my LHT (58cm) for nordic spikes (700x42) and touring pluses (700x28). Should I just go with the P50's that fit 35-45 or should I stick with P45's and not have fenders when using the spikes?

I'm running SKS P65 fenders on my 54cm LHT complete. The fork pinches the fender just a bit, but no problem. Some suggest that you need fenders at least 10mm wider than the tires, and the width is 40mm for my Schwalbe 26x1.5 tires. I'd say minimum 50mm fenders if you never plan to increase the width. But the P50 is designed for a 700c wheel. The P55 and P65 are designed for 26" wheels. Most any will fit, so it just depends on what you want and how good a coverage you want during wet conditions.

I put the 60s on mine, good coverage on the stock tires and they will work when i swap to winter tires

I have the P45s. I whish I had gotten the P50s. The 35mm paselas are a pretty tight fit, and I would like to use even wider tires.

I have p45s on my 56cm LHT, they fit fine with the stock 700x37 Contential Contract tires.

P50s fit fine on the 700C wheeled LHT. I have a pair on mine. Could probably go even wider...

I have the stock LHT, which came with 700 x 37 tires, which is actually what I prefer for touring and for riding around Seattle, with its vast network of crumbling roads. I recently put SKS P45's on my bike, and they fit just fine. If I had wider tires than that, though, they wouldn't work. The clearance is enough for 37 mm, but there isn't very much extra.

I have a 62cm and use the p50's. The p50's seem to fit with a millimeter or two on each side to spare. I first bought the p45's, which seem to work fine with the 700x37 stock tires. However, if I wanted to switch to a wider tire, I would feel more comfortable with the p50's. One disadvantage of the p50's is that they are not as long as the p45's, but it's nothing that a mud flap can't fix. The extra width of the rear p50 seems to offer great protection for the front derailleur. With the chain on the small ring, the cage of the front derailleur rests slightly against the fender. The p50 is quite the perfect fit.
