Well, we did it...
My wife & I bought Specialized (Hardrock & Myka) this past May & figured for our anniversary we would do a "weekender". We started in Gaylord, MI & rode up to Mackinaw City on the "semi-new" bike trail. This was our first ride over 18 miles. It ended up being about 90 miles. We went just over halfway the first day, riding from 0930 to 1500 to Topinabee with a stop for lunch and acouple snack breaks. We also gave our butts a rest every once in a while by hopping off and walking the bikes for a hundred yards or so. Needless to say, I fell asleep at 1930 (LMAO!). The next morning we got up & hit the trail around 0830 & stopped in Cheboygan for brunch at 1030 & back on the bikes after a great outdoor, canal side brunch. Leaving there at 1130 and arriving at the lighthouse by the Mackinac Bridge at 1330. What a ride!!!
We loved it & plan to do another soon! But want to give Mom & Dad a break from babysitting for abit. Otherwise we would do the Charlevoix/Mackinaw trail next weekend...
