Noob question about bottom bracket

I just bought a Univega Gran Turismo frame and I am planning on putting Sugino xd 600 cranks on it. Do I need to measure before choosing which bottom bracket to install, or can I just go with the one that is recommended (tange 68 by 113mm ,from a particular online dealer) for the Sugino xd 600?

What you need is to find someone who can chase and face the BB. Then you can insert BBs and model the chain line. I would go off the suggested part, but really it all comes together when you set it up. it isn't 100% foolproof plug and play.

Is it the Tange sealed cartridge BB - Very nice and recommended, no plastic parts like Shimano and rebuildable. Small adjustments outward can be made using shims under the drive side flange, look for clearance between the frame and the granny (inner) gear. Recommended BB usually works but as Peterpan1 indicates sometimes they don't match up exactly right.
