Very sorry to hear that. Pleased the driver was caught.

I am sure Ian was an inspiration to many other cycle tourers and adventurers. A life well lived.

Odd, When a man uses a car to hit a cop it's a attempted murder with deadly weapon. Man hits a cyclist, is aslap on the wrist. Wish Driver who hit cyclist spend 10year minimum in jail and lose their license for life!

We had a recent trial over a guy who killed a kid with his car while drunk. Judge found that even sober the motorist couldn't have avoided the kid. Ok then.

Just incase anyone is interest I though I would post this link to thebikeshow http://thebikeshow.net/ 8th of September podcast is in Ian Hibell's memory. The two weeks previous to that have also been in a touring vain and worth listening to.
