Excuse my ignorance but which B17 model is best for a man on the wrong side of 90 kilo planning a six month himalayan jaunt

Brooks B-17 Champion Special (With the big copper rivets). The honey colored one is the most comfortable. Unless it clashes with the paint on your bike, then go for black. Under no circumstances get the quirky racing green.

You're welcome. I was being a little flippant, but it is pretty simple

Do you like unsprung saddles? If so then it's B-17 vs B-17 Champion Special. The Champion Special is definitely cooler looking with the big copper rivets. If you've got money to burn then the Champion Special with titanium rails will shave some ounces.

Do you like sprung saddles? If so then it's Champion Flyer vs Champion Flyer Special

The Wallingford Bicycle Parts page will give you all the info you could want on all the Brooks models.

I wasn't kidding about the color. The honey looks very nice out of the box, and ages to a darker brown.

Speedo (B-17 Champion Special (Honey))

P.S. Have fun in the Himalayas!

Don't listen to him, the green rocks!

That's a (green!) B17 CS. I love it. I'm around 106 kgs.
