We are renting bikes in Vietnam for a tour to Cambodia. The fellow that we are renting from sent us photos of the bikes. They are "Asama" brand. I have to take my own seat post ans saddle because of my height. Does anybody know, or can make an educated guess, as to the diameter tha Asama uses********************???

I am trying to find out from this fellow in Viet Nam, but he keeps replying that "seat well adjust for high people." But I'm not stoned, I'm just tall.

I'd be more concerned that the bike will be too small. There is more than just the height of the seat. I rode a friends bike that was two sizes too small for me, with the saddle adjusted to my height. I was in pain after only 20 miles.

You really should try to contact someone that has better English skills or find someone on this side that speaks Vietnamese. It would be a shame to spoil and excellent adventure like this on a poor fitting bicycle.

Hi RSchragis, Asama is quite popular in Vietnam but just for very amateur users, and very difficult to find a L or XL size. If you have any question about bikes or need any support from bikers in Vietnam you can come to www.xedap.org and come to the "tư vấn - hỏi đáp" (mean question and advice) room. you can post in English, sure someone will help you.

Why not try a folding bike? Check out the forum and ask your questions there. There are many folders suitable for touring.
