Bike Touring related movies and books

Hello,

somebody can suggest any movie or books related to bike touring?
I have already found something via the Bicycle Film Festival we had in Milano this year but probably you know something more about this topic. Every suggestion is appreciated.

By the way, I just ordered with JeJames Cycle a new Dawes Horizon that will be here on next January.

Regards and Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you too!
Quick note to let you know that Benny Zenga and Brian Vernor (both filmmakers and cycling activists/advocates) filmed the epic 12 000 km Tour d'Afrique Bicycle Expedition from Cairo to Cape Town in 2008. The film is in the final stages of post production and should be ready for screening through the Bicycle Film Festival by mid 2009. It will also be available on DVD once completed. Let me know if you're interested in a copy and we'll add you to the list.

I really want to see "The Long Road North." Even if I have to put up with vague humanist ramblings the natural scenery looks amazing. Too bad theres no SF screenings planned.

I just started reading two books by Alastair Humphreys about his world tour. First part, second part.

Truly recommend.

Hi,

many thanks for the contributions. Starting to watching something, a lot of homeworks....
A lot of snow in Italy, 8 degrees below, no usual Saturday nowhere-to-go tour....

Amazon.com: THE MIDDLE OF THE WORLD (O Caminho das Nuvens): Cláudia Abreu, Ravi Ramos Lacerda, Wagner Moura, Manoel Sebastião Alves Filho, Felipe Newton Silva Rodrigues, Vincente Amorim: Movies & TV Amazon.com: THE MIDDLE OF THE WORLD (O Caminho das Nuvens): Cláudia Abreu, Ravi Ramos Lacerda, Wagner Moura, Manoel Sebastião Alves Filho, Felipe Newton Silva Rodrigues, Vincente Amorim: Movies & TV

I had found a copy at my local library, and I think it was subtitled. It's a story about a very poor and large family emigrating to the city (Buenos aires, I think) to find work. They do a lot of stealth camping on the way, with small children, all of them riding cheap bikes, and they have little else. Quite adventurous.

Thanks. I feel lazy because I should have looked it up myself. I forgot that Amazon sells DVDs. I will place my order when my Visa card calms down. I collect bicycle touring stories and have about 35 books in my collection and now I want to start in on DVDs.
