I think we're still a long way off from such a reality, but a hopeful scenario nonetheless. For a more detailed portrait of Congressional supporters of cycling, including Blumenauer and Oberstar--not to mention some other hopeful insights into the ongoing rise in cycling in the U.S.--see the new book Pedal Power: The Quiet Rise of the Bicycle in American Public Life, by J.
