Jb,

Since you first mentioned the extrawheel in another post I've been looking for info on them. Other than info on their site and a review or two, I haven't seen a lot. I'd love to read more about your experience with it -- maybe it's worth starting a thread on them? Like what kind of bike you've used it with - how the bike handles - pics on your bike - how much they can carry - pros/cons - etc.

I've done a couple of searches here at BF and not seen many people who have real experience with them.

Thanks,
bb

I've taken several tours with panniers, front and rear, and also one tour pulling a Bob Yak. I prefer the panniers. There are several panniers vs. trailer threads on this forum. I've given my reasons before. For a tour on roads, I take my touring bike with panniers. For an off-road tour I'd take my hardtail mountain bike with the Yak.

The fragility of eggs and jars of food is overstated.

Bikes: "Hildy", a Novara Randonee touring bike; a 16-speed Bike Friday Tikit; and a Specialized Stumpjumper frame-based built-up MTB, now serving as the kid-carrier, grocery-getter.

Oh, boy, is that true. A two-wheeled trailer on the C&O would be like driving an elephant through the deep jungle.
