Salsa Gordo Rim (rim brake version) on Deore hub.
Greetings
I am assembling my first specific touring bicycle from a MTB steel frame and fork I bought back in 1996. I intend to build the rear wheel with Salsa Gordo 36 h rim, double butted spokes and Deore hub. How strong is the rim for touring on a bicycle with rim brakes and how strong will be the wheel with the Deore hub?
Thanks

The Gordo is a very good choice. Quite heavy, but likely very durable. Make sure that you build with brass rather than alloy nipples. The Deore hub is the workhorse - not fancy - but perfectly adequate. Serviceable too. I don't think you'll have wheel issues.
