Help - Surly front Nice Rack length?

Could someone with a front Nice Rack please measure the width and length of the flat platform area on top, and share this info?

I want to know the length of the flat area on top, for fitting a bag. From side view pictures and spoke spacing, it looks to be 9-10 inches.

Surly says it's 178mm (7") wide measured outside-to-outside, but apparently the length is a big secret.

I have searched diligently and not found this information anywhere. Surly has a pdf drawing of the rear rack, but nothing for front rack.

Thanks in advance for help.
