Big Agnes Seedhouse Tents on SAC
Any steepandcheap watchers here? My Big Agnes Seedhouse 2 came today from Steepandcheap. $167 and that includes the footprint. I've been seeing Seedhouse 3's come up at least twice already today for $187. Not a bad deal if you want a nice light tent.

Trust me on this one............. call BA and see if they will replace your Yunan tent poles.... tell them that your worried about them breaking. They swapped them out for me for $35. They are Eastons and are tons better and lighter and pack smaller.
Or don't and take your chances. The Yunan poles are junk. Don't say I didn't warn you.
On the plus side......... BA was great about replacing them.
I love this tent!! Don't get me wrong. I loved the poles for about 20 nights out.. then it was stress cracking time.

These are standard aluminum poles, not the superlight ones. What are Yunan poles?

The standard poles are the Yunan brand. The Easton poles are the ones that come with the Seedhouse SL. It's a straight swap. Very worth the few dollars it will cost to contact BA and get them upgraded.
If your doing local tours it might be ok? I would not recommend these poles to anyone doing a long tour. This is my experience. I've never had a problem with poles failing like this. I've had poles break when climbing mountains and it was obvious why they broke...... wind had nothing to do with the failures of the Yunan poles(the ones that come with the standard seedhouse). It was cracking at the joints.
Not trying to poo poo your puchase. I love the tent. I love it even more now!! The Eastons are more compact as well.
Worth the $35 I spent to get them.

Hmmm.. OK advice taken. The poles actually say Yunan on them! I won't be doing month long trips but those Easton poles sound much better already.
