Stolen Trek 520

My 60cm blue 1989 Trek 520 touring bike was just stolen from outside my apartment in Columbus, OH. It has a honey Brooks B17 saddle on it and a Blackburn rear rack. It is the only possession that I care about. It is not only my sole means of transportation but also a symbol of freedom for me. I've taken it to some marvelous places and I would very much like to see it again. I have never seen a bike identical to mine so if you think you see please let me know. I will reward you handsomely and shower you with praise and infinite love but I suppose I'll just deal with that on the offchance that I ever see my bike again.

Here is a picture. It didn't have the front rack or any bags on when stolen.

Just thought I'd post on here just in case. I suppose I'll be saying goodbye to my summer biking plans.

Sorry to hear about your bike dubois. I'd say keep an eye out on craigslist or ebay or something like that. Also contact the police and provide a photo and ask if their has been a bunch of recent thefts in your area (and what kind, burglary, bike, car, etc.). That's a pretty tall bike considering the average male is like 5'8" to 5'10" so someone like me might look a little silly trying to ride it. Keep your friends informed to just keep a look out when they are on thier ride. Also contact LBS in the area and provide a photo and phone number just in case. Also because of the year and the paint color you might get a few leads.

Sorry to hear about your bike but if it is the only possession you care about, why on earth did you leave it outside?

Sorry your bike got stolen, that always sucks.

But let's face it, it's an easily replaced material / commodity object. That hunk of metal just happened to be the one you used to get around.

Why should this kill your summer touring plans? Just go out and buy another touring bike.

i don't have the money to buy a new one right now and it's hard finding a reasonably priced used touring bike for somebody who's 6'2" and all legs.

yeah it's just stuff but it'd be nice to have it back ya know?

i left it outside since i was just going inside to eat.

Don't lose hope. I actually saw an ad on CL for a stolen bike, and I just happened to know where it was. I emailed the owner and she went and stole it back that night.
