my son is 12, he has been learning Russian in school for 6 years. I told him the other day we should do a tour up to RU.

Say. Train to PL, then bike to Russia .... would be a fun way to spend a sumer adn he would get to practice his Russian.

It is possible to go to the Leningrad area, at us beautiful places, still it is possible to go to suburbs of St.-Petersburg for example Petrodvorets, Imperial village, Pavlovsk, but not in all parks start up with bicycles. If you the Finnish war or the Great Patriotic War, at us many interesting places connected with these wars interests. So I typed "sortavala russia" into google maps and found out where you were on your very cool looking tour.

I menaI know where Keralia is and stuff, but it is a big region.

You should write about that trip. It looks beautiful.

I could imagine starting in St Petersburg or in Helsinki.

I assume camping there is no problem, just sleep in the woods whereever you happen to be.

ps, girls are cute.

Yes Sortavala it to the north of St.-Petersburg. And we went so: from St.-Petersburg have reached to Pitkyaranta by train, further we have gone towards marble open-cast mine in the city of Ruskeala, thus examined falls and communal graves meeting to us on a way. From Ruskealy we have gone to Sortavala and from Sortavala by train to St.-Petersburg. The general extent of a route of 183 kilometres also went we 5 days. We slept in wood in tents and cooked food on a fire or a gas torch. I have route and our track for Garmin

Yes it was damp enough, because before our arrival there were strong rains.
