Does anyone ride a Salsa La Cruz for long rides/light touring/commuting? I'm looking for a long-single-day-ride bike that will carry a small load well and can have fenders. I was planning to get the cross check but now I'm thinking about saving that extra dough and getting the Salsa. I have a Rivendell Quickbeam which I use for long rides now, though it's a single speed--the small benefits of Indiana, and I really like the feel of the bike. I believe the Rivendell is mostly True temper OX platinum, so that's what has pushed me towards the more expensive Salsa with the same tube set.
Any pics or ride reports would be appreciated. Also, if you were going to go to the 1700-1900 range what would you buy for a bike that would do, at most, a credit card tour?
