In case someone might be interested in these,

There may be other products out there also -- if anyone knows of something good, please feel free to post.
A friend just bought an iPod but had complaints about the small screen, even though she appreciated the portability. These virtual screens (at their best) seem as though they might be a possible solution for cycle touring, for those who want maximum portability plus decent screen size, when carrying an iPod.
There also seem to be some other iPod-like devices that are more reasonably priced than the Apple versions; one of them was showing up on the left side of the screen on this page,

The virtual screens seem as though they could also be used with a variety of ultra-portable netbooks, notebooks, PDAs, handhelds, etc. -- and generally enhance the possibilities when carrying these sorts of small devices that have small built-in screens.
