Oregon Scientific ATC 2K action cam on sale at Amazon

Thought someone might be interested in this. I saw some web sites recommend the ATC 3K Cam for mounting on your handlebars during a tour and briefly considered buying on of them but figured I could spend $130 more wisely.

Then today I popped onto amazon and saw they had the ATC 2K as their daily deal here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox/ref=cs_top_nav_gb27

I know one of the big differences is the 3k is waterproof the 2k is not.

This will only last for today. Figured someone might wanna give it a shot for the sale price of $50.

Interesting. On their web site they have this:

"Although the manual and packaging may state the product is only water-resistant, subsequent tests have since certified the product as waterproof."

I honestly have no clue if it is or not. I figure for $50 bucks compared to the 3 which is almost 100 more you can always use it on non torrential days. I kind of see it as more of an object of fun and convenience than a top of the line necessity item. But hey the price is good.

My 2k has been through several really heavy showers with no ill effects.

I am trying very hard to resist. I really don't want to have yet another thing to carry on tour, even if it is small and light.

Can you tell me what you think of yours? Is it useful on tour?
