Marine grease for touring?
I've recently heard a bit about packing hubs with marine grease for extra waterproofness. Since it doesn't look like I'll be getting sealed bearing hubs before the next big trip, I'm trying to find a little advantage for those wet days. I feel like I ride in the rain more than some people, and I worry about my bearings.
Does anyone have any experience with marine grease, or some other waterproof grease, from a long term touring aspect?

Boat trailer wheel bearing grease is what I use for touring and mountain bike applications. It is cheap and stands up very well to all kinds of conditions.

Mystic JT-6, the green tube. Won't wash out and long lasting. Calcium based grease. I use it on the headset, hubs and BB bearings...no complaints here. You see JT-6 used/preferred on boat trailers where the bearings are submerged when launching or loading and then driven on the highway, and farm and heavy equipment. Usually costs $3 a tube and it's widely available, even seen it at Wal*Mart. Put a coat of JT-6 on the shackles of a few outdoor locks about 3 years ago and the grease is still there...lol.
