Rohloff Spokes?

Building up a couple of wheelsets, and having trouble getting any spokes for my Rohloff hub. This is a try any place in US/Can deal. All I can find are straight spokes, and nobody actually has them. So far it's looking like I better carry whatever I need because getting these babies under any circumstance is a pain. I am lacing to Aeroheat rims which I would have thought was pretty comon combo but the 238 spokes are a rarity. Many of the national distributors don't carry the butted spokes in smaller sizes, under 250. Anyone else run into this problem? Anyone know a shop that specializes in this, an MTB shop probably.

MY LBS cut some straight guage spokes to length for my Rohloff + Velocity Aeroheat wheel. Butted spokes would be nice, but an undished Rohloff wheel is so strong that I'm not concerned about the difference it would make.

Vik a localish shop will cut the spokes also, I'm just holding out for the time being to get spokes where the rear matches the front. Rohloff hubs do rip at the flange, so I would like the best spokes possible. Same thing with black spokes. It's all going to be fairly fancy when I am done, so it needs to have as few inconsistencies as possible.

Flanges breaking on a Rohloff are so infrequent that it's not something I'd even think about. Rohloff themselves have stated the reason for those handful of failures was a problem with the aluminum stock the hub shells were machined out of...nothing to do with the wheel build.

However I do understand wanting your bike build to be "just right" whatever that means to a specific rider and a specific bike. Aesthetics are important for sure.

What kind of frame are you putting the Rohloff in?
