Mirrycle STI mirror on non STI cane creek lever
I have just about finished building my new touring bike. I am to the point of adding the small touches like a mirror. Not having any luck finding a mirror that attached securly I decided to make my Mirrycle mirror fit on my non STI cane creek levers. I took a piece of aluminium and milled it down to the proper size and drilled two holes with countersinks for a smooth look. The cane creek levers are thick allowing me to drill and tap them to 10-32 thread. I then painted the aluminium to match the levers, bolted them on. This is a rock solid mounting with no gigggle in the mirror at all.

Cool but ouch. I have a Blackburn mirror on my tourer which I can take off easily to put on one of my other bikes when I need to. A little jiggle but nothing which obstructs to the point I can't see what's behind me. I had to trim the Velcro a little as it interfered with braking but the mod did the trick.

Nice job on the custom mirror, however, I'm going to try and talk you out of your solution. At some point your going to drop you bike and the force on that mirror could very well mess-up you lever. There are a couple other options that I think are better. Here is a link that shows a couple. Just a suggestion.

I know from recent experience that if you drop the bike, the mirror will break before the lever will be damaged...
