How to find good bike Tours?
I know there are Bike tours all over the whole United States but how do I find them?
I want to do a supported ride. Several days of riding and camping. I would like to do 1 to 2 rides a month all summer. I don' t care how far I have to drive to get there. I am not interested in mountains or extreme hills. I have a Low Racer, P-38 and EZ-1.
In the summer when it is extremely hot 100+ degrees in the south in July and August I want to do rides in the north where it is NOT hot. I will do rides in the southern States in Spring and Fall.

What sort of touring do you want to do? Do you want to go with a tour company, by yourself, etc...
Pick a place.
Then come here and ask about it. I have several books like 25 bike rides in Maine.
Most will have a tour or two in them. I design a different tour every year.
So..where do you want to go first?

I did my first supported tour this summer with Cycle America and couldn't have been happier. I thought it was a great value and as a bonus we never went hungry.

Adventure Cycling offers at least 3 supported week long rails to trails rides, this year I did the Idaho Relaxed and the C&O Canal. Absolutely fantastic rides with great leaders, superb food and super friendly riders. New for 2010 is the Katy Trail supported and I'm going.

But there are lots of cross state rides that are a week long and cost just a couple of hundred of dollars, granted you have to buy your own food and most don't allow cooking at the camp site.

Self-supported is much cheaper, but if I had the money I'd consider a supported tour. I think it might be nice to meet other people and be pampered.

Noo funteers is a bicycle touring company. Kind of high end uses top of the line hotels. If i can afford it I am going to try one of their tours next summer.
