Custom made Reynolds 953 air hardened stainless steel, further surface treated and hardened by a skilled and qualified metallurgist.

All components would be custom made by world class jewelers and artist-metallurgists.

Any lettering would be selected from designs submitted by the Queen's calligrapher.

I still need to put some pump pegs on the back side of the seat post, and I need to laminate up some fenders.
I also have some janky race face cranks on there now which I'll change over to Paul's, and I'm using his touring cantis for the brakes. The current bar is a North Road, I'm not real thrilled with it, I may go with a Mary or an Albatross. I've got a tubus rack for the rear, still need a front rack--not sure what I'm going to use yet.

It's still a work in progress, but this is my dream touring bike.

I would get a custom build which would include:

Front & Rear rack welded to the frame.
Custom made lockable aero hard shell front & rear panniers. (Tested in a wind tunnel)
U-Lock that is part of the frame that would swivel out, or possibly a retractable cable lock (that retracts into the frame)
Aerobars with shifters as well as brifters.
Probably Rotor 3D cranks, but I've never tried them, so I can't be sure.
Probably XTR deraileurs and Dura-Ace everything else

What I'm not sure is if I'd want this as a road bike, or a low racer...
If i had to buy something that already exists (no custom parts), it'd probably be an
M5 Low Racer with 88Liter tailbox

Custom bike with integrated rear rack and suspended (lockable) front rack (highrider). Disc brakes, Rohloff and Schmidt hubs, B&M lights, Brooks saddle. Custom panniers similar to Panpack's.

I would be happy with a bike that would change its own flats and pitch and repack my tent for me.

Whatever I got, I would have it powder coated instead of painted. Maybe S&S couplers, given what the airlines are charging to transport an intact bicycle anywhere.

I just took delivery on my ulimate touring bike. Bruce Gordon Rock 'n Road frame, retrofitted with S&S couplers. A Rohloff hub on the rear coupled to a retrofitted eccentric bottom bracket. Son20s front hub with Edelux light. Paul touring cantis and cane creek ergo levers. Road style bars and BG chicken neck integrated stem. It's a beauty...
