I was on a local craigslist and saw a lowrider bike with 140 spoke wheels.

They look... heavy. Seems awfully close to a full metal disc instead of spokes.
Also, I would worry about the structural integrity of the hub itself with all of those spoke holes.

Bikes: At one point it was a Trek 700 something. Now it have Velocity Psycho wheels, a tape job. Thumb shifters (Shimano Deore). Corncob grouping, and drop bar ends all wrapped up in tape.

At some point there become too many hole in the rims/hubs and the whole system actually becomes weaker.

the hubs are complete trash. Ive seen them where the inner race is collapsed.
