Tubus Smarti Rack Hardware

I picked up Smarti front rack but it had no hardware.

The site shows a 8mm spacer down on the fork eyelets and a 20mm stainless hex head bolt that threads into the eyelet.

I picked up some nice ~10mm spacers at the local hardware store. Figuring i will go with 25mm hex head allen m5s to hold it in place. Going a bit longer here allows me to put a lock nut on the back side after threading it through so that it doesnt rattle loose.

My problem is 25mm stainless m5 .80 bolts are extremely hard to find for a reasonable price.

Options:

1. Get a 25 pack for like $8 which is about the cheapest i have found them. I found a 5 pack for $6.
2. grind down the spacers from 10mm to about 7 or 8 and compress the rack inward. THe problem here is that the rack is already needing to be pushed in quite a bit even with the 10mm spacers i have.
3. Run non-stainless black hex head bolts down there and coat them with grease or clear coat. I think they are about .80 each. Get 3 of those. 2 for use and one or maybe 2 for spares.

I think my OCD has gotten the best of me here. I want stainless hardware I know it probably doesn't matter...

I am surprised at how much stainless hardware is. Good lord.

i got the rest of the hardware......all m5 small stuff........4 washers, 4 nylon lock nuts, 2 12mm and i was in over $5. That is nuts. No pun intended.

Edit: I probably spent more than $6 of my life typing this for no reason and should just order them

i just recieved a tubus tara and it came with all the hardware. frankly these things are quite expensive. i think the price for hardware is not really that significant.

@scale hey man, just give in to it. Buy all the stainless that you need and be done with it. How much is peace of mind worth? I even coat the threads on stainless screws with beeswax and use them to fill eyelets that aren't being used - just to keep those threads safe and warm.

Ortlieb USA is in WA state, company is in DE / Germany .. you can ask a Shop selling Ortlieb in your County, Yes/No?

I live by a Port, there is a Marine supply store there, they have Stainless hardware, because its better around seawater.

*8mm thick spacer is 2 0r 3 presta stem ring nuts.. there are extras at the LBS from replacing tubes for customers..
