Best Saddle Bag
Hey guys. I know this is kind of an odd post, and really it's all up to preference and really all saddle bags are the same, but I wanted to ask the masters of packing. What would be the best saddle bag for fitting a spare road tube, patch kit, tire levers, and CO2 inflate-or thingy (my diction is so eloquent, I know) into? Preferably the smallest possible, and on the cheaper side.
Thanks for any input/opinions. |
For small/cheap, I like Pedro's Blowout. It's big enough to hold all the stuff you listed, and it's partly recycled tubes!
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA150_.jpg For small/not so cheap, I very much like my Brooks Challenge. Highest in quality for sure, and looks very classy. Doubles as a top-tube bag much like those era ~20s too! http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs208...._2113301_n.jpg |
What size Pedros? They have a micro! ...But I think that will be too small.
Looking for any and all opinions really. |

I use one of these: http://www.genuineinnovations.com/bi...-seat-bag.html
I could fit a tube in the bag along with what's already there (a small road tube, not a larger mtb tube) but instead added in other tools and such (and threw it into a larger bag) |

According to a customer review on Amazon, "the strap that attaches this bag to your seat goes over the zipper track. You can't open the zipper without undoing the strap. So this bag is too inconvenient for carrying car keys, which is why I wanted it." That's too bad. I liked the idea of using recycled inner tubes.

While this doesn't fit your stated criteria... my Carradice Barley is something I really like.
It's not big, but it has this surprising ability to carry stuff. It's the best. http://www.wallbike.com/carradice/barley.html |
I like this one from Rivendell

Topeak stuff seems to last pretty well, usually it's the zippers that blow out. Many sizes, but this does what you want.

Alright, if anyone else still has opinions, let me hear 'em. :D
I'm liking all of the ones mentioned so adding more options won't hurt. |
