Trek 470 Tour??

I am looking into a 1997 Trek 470 and was curious to see if it is possible to tour on the bike. I know it has mounting for a back rack but no embossments for a front rack. Is it still possible to install a front rack to do touring on. Thanks for all the help.

Old Man Mountain makes racks for bicycles with no rack braze ons. Cruise their site for ideas.
