I have the 101's but I use toe clips instead of cleats. I find them quite comfortable for both walking & riding.
There seem to be too much travel if you want cleats

My wife has some womens Lakes, not sure of the model but there is a good bit of adjust-ability, two sets of spd mounts per shoe, and they move a pretty good bit fore and aft.

I have the 101's and find plenty of adjustability for the cleats. I wish there was a little more recess though--I get a slight clicking from cleats when walking.

Every day a winding road
I have the Lake MTBs and they are fantastic. I really like them because I have a wide foot and Lake is one of the few that makes a wide shoe.
They have pretty much the same adjustment as the Shimano SPDs.

thanks, guys.
yeah, i was looking at them b/c of the width. i had heard good things, but the only shop that carries any lake shoes around here doesn't carry these models. i'm a bit nervous about buying shoes online, but i think i'll probably just do it ... now to decide which model.
