Pannier's Sunlite

Does anyone here have any experience with these Pannier's.

I was at my LBS yesterday and they have them in stock. I like that they have plenty of pockets and the draw cord and lock down straps in case I would need to add some extra gear.
Anyway any comments pro or con very much appreciated and thanks for your time.:thumb::)

I don't have that exact model, but I have a pair of similar Sunlite panniers.

They're cheap and perfectly usable for a small-scale tour. Construction is fine, capacity is on the small side. There's some token waterproofing on the underside of the top flap that's starting to come off in sheets. Otherwise, they work perfectly well.

I used the saddle bag type Sunlite panniers for 4 years of touring. Only trouble I had with them was the rather flimsy bungie cord/hook combo that failed early on. Not really essential to securing the panniers, so no big deal. I liked the mounting simplicity of the saddle bag design, their relatively light weight, and the strong zippers. Good value for the money. Replaced them recently with larger, heavier Axioms that included water proof covers.

They look like they would have serious heel strike problems.

My touring bike has shorter chainstays than dedicated tourers and I did not have heel strike problems. There is about an inch of horizontal play available, at least was on my rack. More of an issue for me with the Axioms which are longer vertically.

I use Sunlites on my hybrid commuter- short wheelbase. no real problem with the heal strike and I'm a big guy. The one thing I didn't like about them was having a pair of separate panniers versus a pair that's joined with a piece of fabric between; I think those would stay on better. As it is, I attached an aluminum rod near the top and bungee the rod to my rack and they are very secure that way (although it takes a few extra seconds to remove them). Durability has been okay after 2+ years of semi-daily commuting; I had one seam let go (for the drawstring at the top of one of the panniers; the snap-close cover still keeps everythingin place).

The joined panniers are the ones I had and are what I think the OP was asking about. Very secure, simple mounting.

I had the joined set, used them for commuting not touring and they held up well. I recently upcycled them to a friend for use around campus and general commuting. Only issue i ever had was that one of the zipper blew out due to me overstuffing them with groceries, my fault not the design. they are a good all around bag.
