NYC to Deleware Water Gap, anyone know of a good route?
Does anyone know a good route from Manhattan to the Delaware Water Gap? I'm going to do an overnight bike tour this weekend and I'd like to give that a try. I found on route on bikely, but I'm curious if anyone else here has done this.

I'd take a look at the using the northern end of the High Point to Cape May bike route published by NJDOT.
If you go the the southern end of the gap you will have less climbing but more traffic.

The recent issue of "AMC Outdoors," the member magazine of the Appalachian Mountain Club, had a nice article on bike touring that you may want to check out. Another possible would be to take PATH to Hoboken, the train to Pt. Jervis, ride through the the Gap to Worthington State Forest where there is camping and then ride back to Pt. Jervis.

There is a published map by ACA from the East Coast trail route that has a spur from the NJ Transit train station in Summit NJ to the Delaware River. You can get to the Summit Train Station from Penn Station.
