The Brooks is a B17 Champion Special - only weathering is from Proofide and butt sweat. The bag is a Barley. When I need to load er up, she gets a front rack, as well as a bar bag, though I am skittish about loading the front too heavily with that carbon fork We'll see how that works out next year, I have a steel fork, just in case ;) Fenders are Planet Bike Freddy Fenders.

My 2005 Dahon Speed P8 with homebuilt Samsonite trailer. The bike and trailer frame fits inside the Samsonite for air travel. Camping gear (and trailer wheels) goes in separate duffel while flying. Next experiment: 12.5 wheels for trailer.

They're Ortleib, from germany. I have a set as well and they're great; never get anything wet. The front ones
are roll-top and the back ones can be either roll-top or lidded; I have the lidded ones and I think they're better
(my friends both have roll-tops) if you remove the extraneous stuff.

Yup, a Road Morph. I love it and actually use it more than my floor pump. The frame attachment is your basic tie strap that supports a slide in mount with a plastic snap latch. Never knocked it off yet, though I carry it under the flap of the barley as much as I do in the mount. Gotta pull it when I put the bike on the rack, often too darned lazy to put it back. I really am a lazy cuss.

There was only one time on my recent tour when I wished I had a camera. I stopped at this picnic table rest, and leaned my bike against the pavillion. Stood back and had a look at the view. My bike was green with the bamboo fenders; The rest stop was green with bamboo coloured accents, and the valley beyond was green trees and dried up grasses around a river. A catalogue photo that would have launched a thousand orders!! This was on the Petit Temis in Quebec, about KM 102.

By the way, there is only about 1/8" clearance on the inside front tire/fender with the cheap 9 dollar spare I bought. That tire just swells up with each stroke of the pump.

I've decided I need a different tent.
The Mountain Hardware Hammerhead 3 is HUGE. I mean, it's great but I'm travelling way too bulky as a solo rider. If I had a travel partner, it'd be cool 'cause I'd carry the tent, they could carry the other junk.

Seeing a packed Big Agnes Seedhouse SL was was put me over the top...that thing packs LIGHT.

My Lemond Buenos Aires enroute San Diego to Florida, solo, unsupported. These are Performance bags that worked great. I especially like the bright colored rain covers that stayed on the whole trip.

I discovered that if you pull the handle out and turn it 90 degrees (like you do when using it to pump), it makes the Road Morph *just* short enough to fit *inside* the Barley bag. That's how I carry mine now, on the inside, on the bottom, pushed as far forward as possible. It barely fits, but it does fit.

Michael, you riding that thing? I have one too, well a toxy, but so far I'm not sure I like it for the open road.

Not any more. I sold all my 'bents about 3 years ago. I did some short (75mile a day) tours on the Street Machine though. It's a great bike, very comfy with the dual suspension.

What don't you like about yours (picture please) for the open road?

The wheels came on the bike and are Bontrager Select. They performed very well for road wheels, even over the roughest roads.
