Oh, a second stem...that's smart. Unfortunately it wouldn't work with my cantilever breaks, but that's an interesting solution.

It will work with cantilever brakes. Just drill a couple of holes through the second stem for cable routing.

Yep, a hole through the stem does the trick:

My 1981 Univega Specialissima, outfitted with fairly modern components.

Heading south, SF-->LA tour.

Unfortunately the best close up shot I have fully loaded, this was somewhere in the Santa Cruz forest, guerrilla/'stealth' camping for the night.

Hi there, I'm looking for a frame pump that would fit my 58cm LHT, similar to yours. What kind of pump is that one? Thanks.

Hi Brazuca - My husband has one of these on one of his bikes. Topeak has a great frame pump; made of aluminium so it's light and won't rust. Just be aware that it comes in three sizes so you should get the one that fits the size of your frame.

That one is actually the park tool one that is adjustable. I should most definitely fit a 58 cm frame, but I haven't used it yet, so I can't say first hand how well it works. I also caution that the handle is a plastic swing arm that, if it breaks would prevent the mechanism to lock it to the frame from working. I'm OK with this and would end up just throwing it in my bag. Just a warning though : ) feels durable enough to me.

Fantasminha, I don`t think your attatchment worked (or maybe my computer just doesn`t read the format).

I remember you from a thread you started in the regional sections. How did your summer riding go? I hope you found some nice routes that you enjoy!

"Troll and Gnomes" @ Collie, Western Australia (current setup, 2 panniers)

Working on a 3rd version of the bike now for my spring adventures. Need to build myself a custom front rack set.

I'm in love with your bike. I don't know why. Perhaps because I, too, am a purveyor of electric green handlebar tape?

Yes! We ride weekly from our house in South Reno to Verdi to buy a lotto ticket. I wanted to try the Mendon route this weekend but in the end I had too much to do and we couldn't get as much cycling in as we had hoped. But I'm still keen to try it -- it sound fab. We also go to up Geiger Grade towards Virginia City. We haven't made it yet all the way to VC yet (we run out of time), but I'm still determined! I find that I'm out of patience trying to figure out how to upload photos so that they look decent. Is there an instruction sheet?

Well, I`m glad you found yourselves some nice riding. As for loading pics, I would help you out if I could, but every time I do it is a new adventure in hoping and guessing, so pretty much the same as you. Sometimes your luck is in, sometimes not

A pic of my 2011 Salsa Vaya in Ohiopyle this past fall. Maybe not a traditional touring bike, but in my humble opinion, it is the most versatile bike on the market.

Diy handlebar bag and device mount

Interesting subject and there are quite a few way's of working around the problem depending on the type of stem and room available. A diy mount similar to the spendy Nitto lampholder can be made from old Cinelli Spinaci clamps or the many copies available!

I have the same Park Tool pump on my Soma Saga. I don't like it at all, but it works. I much prefer the old Zefal HP that I keep on the Fuji Del Rey.

What a beautiful bike! This is how I want my LHT to look next year, but with black Brooks acessories. Very nice indeed, congrats!
