1986 Specialized Rockhoppeer with lots of mods including half-step+granny gearing, Nitto Noodle drop bars, Brooks Flyer saddle, etc...
Just got back from my first tour: bike camping at 5 Florida state parks over 6 days. ~250 miles total, lots of dirt & gravel roads. The bike did great

Yes. Main road through the park. Connects East side of the park over to the west. Great ride! Many miles above timberline. You top out at 12,200 ft.

re the 1991 shot, I got my first helmet around that time and seeing yours makes me think again of how improved todays reasonably priced ones are compared to the old ones. So much more air flow, I keep mine on all the time now, used to remove the old ones for hot climbs as it was so hot. I need to dig out my old shots too.

Nice paniers, the most expensive but the best. I know these people at Arkel. They think about everything. Can the front paniers be sused as back pack (GT-18BP) ? I personnaly bought rain cover for all of them.
Their competitor: Ortlieb are manufacturing paniers perfectly waterproof but so hard to find something inside their paniers, they have ONE big compartment.

We skipped around to different FL state parks that offer camping. It was tough to route it as we booked the camping reservations late, so we ended up zig-zagging as follows:
Day 1: St. Pete to Little Manatee River state park
Day 2: Little Manatee to Highland Hammock state park
Day 3: Highland Hammock to Alafia state park
Day 4: Alafia to Lake Manatee state park
Day 5: Lake Manatee to Little Manatee
Day 6: Little manatee back to St. Pete
I used Google Maps "get there by bike" feature and the suggested routes worked great. Be prepared for lots of gravel (shell) and dirt roads while you're is central Fl. Lots of phosphate mining and agriculture .

So many nice set ups in here! But 99% of the bikes have drop bars.. what kind of touring do you guys actually do? I ask because, my bike that I am setting up for touring has trekking bars which allow me to be low to just pedal and go, or high to have a very upright position and admire the place I may be riding thru.
I mean, when I am on my road bike, I have a hard time really admiring the view... even if I am on the flat of the bars.

When my hands are on the hoods or the top bar, it's very possible that my angles aren't that different from yours -- which is way more upright than when Hesjedal is on his hoods. Likewise, when I'm on my aeros, I'm not even near how low the tri guys get on theirs.

Just got back from Edinburgh this week. Didn't get a chance to ride, but stopped into a couple of shops. One guy brought out coffee, and we talked about all the places we've been over the years!
