Very cool Unkokuri! Those are some of the fattest wheels I've seen on an LHT yet!

Can you think of anywhere you`d less like to get lost than the middle of nowhere?

After eight years, I've finally busted out my touring gear in preparation for a mini-tour down the California coast. Here it is, mounted to my beloved Crosscheck.

And just for kicks, here it is set up in local mode. I converted an old backpack that really seemed destined to be a pannier.

Its 26"
Yes Koga do produce a good looking piece of kit
Heres a pic of same bike when new at the back of bike shop in UK - even prettier
Essentially same except now has Shimano XT hydraulic disk brakes and MX30 pedals, plus straight handlebars
Getting some Arkel gt54 panniers for next year so then will be even better

i had a ukulele that i took on a tour when i was pulling a bob trailer with a rubbermade container... when i was stranded on the side of the road for a few hours i sat on the container and snapped it's neck, as it was resting on top

It DOES look like it was destined to be a pannier. What kind of mounting method did you rig up?

Thanks! These old vintage bikes are a joy to ride and perform surprisingly well despite not having the latest, greatest components.

I really enjoy seeing these pics too. My first "real" bike was a Trek 700 or 720 (?) which I bought in 1980. It was stolen from me only about 4 months after I bought it. (Luckily I was able to have it long enough to enjoy it for 3000 or so miles).

Thanks to everybody for posting the pics. They're all great.
