Need Suggestions: Safest approach entering Myrtle Beach

Coming from Columbia SC.... Would you recommend just taking US 378 all the way, or doing south, driving through Georgetown, then across the birdge and then up US 17 to Myrtle Beach. Thanks for any suggestion or criticisms

Driving or cycling?

If driving-I have no opinion. Unless it's bike week...

If cycling try to stay off 17 between Myrtle Beach & Charleston (ie Georgetown North to Myrtle Beach). No shoulder, 55MPH +.

There is a cycle path that runs along 17/17business, but begins well N of Georgetown.

I, unfortunately don't have much helpfull info-hopefully someone else will.
