I've seen that Hutchinson makes a 26" x 1" tire , but the narrowest 26" wheel i've seen so far is 1.25". I probably wouldn't want to run a 1" tire on a 1.25" rim, right?

do you need 32 or 36 Hole? I may have a new pair of NOS Campys 36 Hole I can let go cheap. I haven't measured them but they are thin, probaly about 20 mm or so..

I know some XC and downhill Mtb rims measure a bit wider.

Unless one of the local PDX forum patrons has the know-how and would offer to lend their wheel building skills to a fellow poster for cheap? Maybe barter for a bottle of wine or two, eh? Any takers? You'd get the wine AFTER the wheels were made...hehehe.

yeah if you ahve someone else do the wheelbuilding it is always better to buy from them. Look up colorado cycyclist and Jenson usa. I think one of them has a deal where they build the wheel at no charge if you buy the parts from them. Your 1" tire will work best on a rim that is 1" (25mm) or less. Nashbar has some deals going on wheels . you can always email thier tech to see what the rim widths are.
